The Washington Metro Chapter of Safari Club International held its annual banquet earlier this week. Like most SCI chapter fundraisers, this event had a wide variety of hunts, guns and gear available in raffles and auctions. Attendees had a good meal enjoyed with a roomful of like-minded people supporting the mission of protecting the freedom to hunt.
Oh, and they also took batting practice pitched by major league coaches.
The Washington Metro Chapter held its annual fundraiser in the unique setting of National’s Park in Washington, DC. In addition to taking batting practice where the pro’s do, attendees had the opportunity to mingle in the dugout and take a look at memorabilia commemorating years of United States Presidents who have enjoyed the national pastime. Several members of Congress were on hand as well as leaders from the National Rifle Association and other wildlife conservation organizations. NASCAR Driver Kurt Busch was there to help promote an auction package that also helped support the Armed Forces Foundation. SCI Chapter banquets are a fun way to support SCI’s mission.
