PH Spotlight – Jim Fink

Professional Hunter Jim FinkJim Fink grew up on a farm in west-central Alberta where his passion for hunting began early. There, he hunted ducks, geese and grouse and, as he grew older, deer and moose. At age 16, Fink began guiding fishermen at his parent’s lodge on Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories and, in the fall, enjoyed an annual sheep hunt with his dad. Johnny du Plooy is a proud Zambian native whose family has been in country for more than 120 years, and who sees the wildlife industry as a way of life to which he is committed. His career as a PH began when his brother and experienced professional hunter, Abie, encouraged him to undertake an apprenticeship and gain experience working with a variety of safari companies. PH Spotlight Eduardo F. de Araoz

PHSpotlightEduardodeAraozIn 1976, 17-year-old de Araoz’s career was launched when he was asked to guide clients who were among the first foreign hunters to experience Spanish ibex quality trophy hunting. He proudly states that Cazatur “pioneered trophy hunting in Spain,” and “set the quality standards followed by Spanish outfitters.” For 37 years, de Araoz has personally guided hunters and confidently expects to continue his chosen career for many more decades.
