The Italian Chapter of SCI organized this year for the first time a summer camp for their youth members. Due to the large interest, it was split into three groups, one week each. Focal points were to develop the interest of the future hunters in shooting, stalking and learning to identify the wild animals in their natural surroundings. Shown in the photo are the participants of the first week of the Summer Camp, inside the traditional hunting house which served as “Base Camp.”

Italian Chapter Convention
The Italian Chapter, currently SCI’s largest international chapter, held its 27th Annual Convention, AGM and Gala Dinners on a long weekend in early June in the ancient Roman town of Gubbio in Central Italy. Marred by very bad weather and the relative isolation of the venue, the attendance this year was not as strong as in previous years. Nevertheless, SCI President Craig Kauffman welcomed a very full gala dinner event and thanked all for their support of SCI. Regional Representative Norbert Ullmann emphasized the importance of the Chapter’s President, Lodovico Caldesi, and his ever present Secretary Elena Fileppo, in organizing these events to generate funds for the Chapter’s conservation projects.
