Cabela’s is a great partner with SCI and continues strengthening its partnerships with local wildlife groups. On July 22, 2017, at the Huntsville, Alabama Cabela’s store, there was a meeting of conservation organizations in the state and Southeast, including the Alabama Chapter of SCI present. The “Acadiana Disaster Response Fund” recently received a check for $10,000 from SCI’s Acadiana Chapter. The fund helps people across seven different parishes who were affected by flooding this past August and are in the most need. The donation was given in memory of Russell Jackson with Lafayette Shooters who was the chapter’s 2016 donor of the year.
On October 17 and 18, the Alabama Chapter of SCI was invited to bring the SCI Sensory Safari trailer to the Anniston Museum of Natural History.
