SCI’s Annual Lobby Day was a rousing success! This year saw a 23 percent increase in the number of SCI Members participating resulting in SCI having 20 percent more meetings. Overall, SCI met with a third of Congress in one day to express our concerns for hunting related issues.

The newly-formed Acadiana SCI Chapter was represented at SCI Lobby Day by Mike Burke, (left) and Chapter President, Greg Elliott (second from left). The pair met with Louisiana Senator, David Vitter (right), and his Chief Counsel, James Holland (second from right), to discuss many subjects including ivory importation. With respect to that importation, Burke pointed out that, “If we can hunt them [elephants], but not bring them back, the economic value goes away.”
