SCI Featured on Swarovski Optik Quests

swarovski quest logoSwarovski Optik has a television show called Swarovski Optik Quests—With The Eyes Of A Hawk that airs on NBC Sports. SCI is one of the corporate partners of the show, and it kicks off its second season in Utah on a mule deer hunt with SCI President John Whipple and Rusty Hall of Western Lands Outfitters.

“The response to the show in season one was overwhelming, and only added to our excitement to move ahead into season two.  To be able to partner with such great companies and utilize the best optics manufactured in the world today really makes for some excellent entertainment.  For us, TV is a very important part of our media schedule and seeing the unbelievable consumer response to the show has been very rewarding,” said Dean Capuano, Director of Communications for Swarovski Optik North America.

The groundbreaking new series airs this fall on NBC Sports, and then re-airs on Sportsman Channel. Each action-packed episode features a team of Swarovski Optik Pro Staffers traveling to the world’s most exotic locations in search of the planet’s most difficult and sought-after trophies while showcasing Swarovski Optik’s high precision, high quality, sought-after optics.

BoomVane Deploys Recovery And Containment Booms

SCI members who live on the water or who enjoy boating may be interested in knowing about the BoomVane from Elastec/American Marine. The BoomVane is an aquatic paravane system that enables oil recovery and debris containment booms to be towed by a single vessel. It works much like an outrigger planer board and even allows deployment of booms in rivers and tidal waters without the need for a boat or anchor. An offshore prototype was successfully deployed during the Oil-On-Water exercise conducted by the Norwegian Clean Seas Association for Operation Companies in Norway in June of this Year.

11 Days, 4.5 Million Clay Targets

The Grand American is the largest shooting event in the world. According to the event’s Tournament Director, Mike Hampton, 3,500 to 4,000 shooters from all 50 states and seven countries will fire from 121 trap fields.

Mike Jordan Inducted Into ATA Hall Of Fame

Like many hunters, Mike Jordan started shooting clay birds to help him become a better hunter. Today, Jordan is in the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s Hall of Fame and SCI’s Director of Publicatioins, Steve Comus, was there to congratulate him.
