The SCI Southwest Ohio Chapter donated $5,000 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife to help purchase and train the Department’s first K-9 dogs. The dogs will be trained to locate game meat, fish, ginseng, spent shell casings, birds and, of course, help to retrieve and find wild game. Ohio is divided into five wildlife districts, and each district received one dog this summer.
Officer Jason Keller received a dog for the Cincinnati-Dayton, Ohio area. Ohio is now one of 21 states that have dogs for their game wardens.
