The TNV Chapter of Safari Club International was instrumental in providing hunting and fishing opportunities for the youth in their community.
Partnering with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Fall Creek Falls State Park, the chapter helped sponsor the annual June free fishing day. 240 youngsters received a rod and reel and the chance to fish in the 500 acre lake located in southeast Tennessee. For many of the kids, this was their first time fishing. The chapter also donated bicycles, tents and a kayak as giveaways.
In addition to the annual Free Fishing Day, SCI Tennessee Valley also sponsored the 1st Annual Youth Squirrel Hunt and Trapping Tournament. Wildlife Officers Kyle Walling, Jason Ramsey, Pete Geesling, Nick Luper Sgt Jon Ryan and Lt Tim Singleton were on hand to keep the event on track. Congratulations to everyone who participated.
