Work Week Volunteers At AWLS

Thirty-five SCI and Education Sables volunteers contributed personal time, energy and talents to the American Wilderness Leadership School (AWLS) Work Week between May 28 and June 1.

This annual event prepares the facility for a summer of professional development for teachers and conservation education and leadership development for high school students from across the U.S. and Canada.

Work projects included cleaning, mowing, raking, painting, splitting wood for the winter, and hanging drywall in the new cabin.  The work was rewarding and gave everyone a sense of accomplishment in contributing to this important mission program and unique facility.
