Traditions Performance Firearms recently introduced what is calls “the next innovation in muzzleloading”–the Vortek StrikerFire. The gun has been in development since 2008, and rifle takes in-line muzzleloaders to the next level by using an internal StrikerFire system. To cock the gun, simply slide the striker button forward until it locks and shoot! The system allows for faster locktime, the ability to mount your scope closer to the bore, and allows the gun to operate at an ultralight 6 1/4 pounds.
The recessed de-cocking button allows for quick and quiet de-cocking of the firearm. It is also equipped with an automatic de-cocking mechanism, so when the gun is broken open, it automatically de-cocks. The gun is additionally equipped with a trigger block safety and striker block safety.
The Vortek StrikerFire has a 28″ tapered, fluted Magnum Chromoly barrel, and a two-stage trigger set at 3 pounds for a crisp, clean-breaking pull. A Stow-N-Go removable butt pad removes with the push of a button, and provides convenient storage space. The StrikerFire is also equipped with a 1-piece stainless steel Accelerator Breech Plug that allows firing of either loose or pelletized powder without changing the breech plug. MSRP: $489.
